About our Grass-Fed Angus Beef...

Agape Wells Farm produces natural grass-fed beef for folks throughout Washington.  The farm is located in the beautiful Kittitas Valley near Ellensburg.  The Kittitas Valley is known for producing some of the world's best hay, most of which is exported.  The farms are able to produce lush grass hay and alfalfa due to the immense irrigation system that brings water to the fields from the Cascade Mountains.  Our cattle graze on the irrigated pastures from early Spring to late Fall and in Winter are fed quality hay from a local farm.

We are often asked about the name of our farm, "Agape Wells."  Our artesian well is the heart of our farm.  This well provides year-around pure drinking water for our home and live stock.  We are so blessed to have it.  Agape is pronounced, "ah-gah-pay."  It is a Greek word meaning the giving love of God for mankind and also an unselfish, giving love of a person for others.  God has given us so much with this beautiful old farm.  We feel obligated to God to always work hard to improve the land, maintain the old beautiful buildings and to share the fruits of our labor as best as we can. 

At Agape Wells we work hard to raise the best beef possible, beef that is both healthy and flavorful to eat.  We approach this goal in 3 ways, feeding only natural grass, providing a quiet stress-free environment and raising a select breed of cattle.

 We work hard to produce pastures with a high quality mix of grasses and legumes for our cattle to graze.  This mix provides a healthy diet for the live stock, and also a natural way to maintain a balance of nutrients in the soil.  As we mentioned, Agape Wells is blessed to have a wonderful artesian well that provides pure drinking water for all our animals.  Clean water is vitally important for animal health and the quality of the meat they produce.  Mineral supplements, developed especially for our area, are also fed to our cattle, ensuring their complete nutritional needs are met for healthy growth.  No growth hormones or antibiotics are used.   

We maintain a low stress environment. The folks on our farm interact with the cattle in ways to ensure they are comfortable with each one of us. As a result, the livestock are easily moved from pasture to pasture with little more than a whistle from the newly opened gate.  This keeps our cattle content and producing the best beef possible. 

We raise only Angus beef.  Angus beef is the premium beef on the market. Angus cattle are noted for their marbled meat, making it juicy, tender and flavorful.  Angus cattle finished on lush pasture grass produce an excellent 'marbled' beef that is in great demand both within the US and for export due to its distinctive flavor and renowned eating quality. It commands a premium at retail stores and restaurants.

For those who only insist on the very best, only pasture finished Angus beef will do.  So, when you think about that juicy steak, fall off the fork tender beef roast, or the best hamburger you will put your hands around, we hope you will think about Agape Wells' Angus beef.
